CHARTER SCHOOL
Rewriting the playbook to achieve the impossible.
Pattison's Academy is a public charter school sponsored by Charleston County School Districts. Our mission is to unlock potential in children with multiple disabilities by providing a comprehensive education program integrating educational curricula with functional rehabilitation.
Our History
Pattison’s Academy Charter School opened its doors on August 18, 2010, offering educational, team-based academics and pediatric therapy and rehabilitation for children with multiple and severe disabilities spanning from Pre-K through age 21.
Our Model
At Pattison's, we place the child at the center of care and surround them with a team of specialized supporters during your child’s educational journey at our Charter School.
Collaborative Program
At Pattison’s Academy, our innovative education program ensures that each student reaches his or her full potential. This is driven by a student’s unique Individualized Education Plan, developed collaboratively by educators, therapists, and parents or guardians. Our academic program is aligned to the state alternate standards, utilizing a variety of research-based curriculum. Creative and innovative learning strategies that promote independence and success are the basis for our instructional program.
Testimonial
“As a family, Pattison’s has been a spirit lifter for us all that she has her place to grow. Pattison’s has allowed us to feel not only satisfied but excited about her school experience. We know that she is receiving the best in special education available.”

Is Pattison’s Charter School Right for My Child?
Our Charter School is a center-based program designed to provide a comprehensive educational model that supports students' unique academic, therapeutic, and medical needs. Our program may be a good fit for your student if they would benefit from at least two rehabilitative therapy services (such as OT, PT, or Speech Therapy), they have increased medical needs, or they have been diagnosed with a moderate to severe intellectual disability. Our students thrive in a self-contained classroom and may present with multiple, severe disabilities, typically including orthopedic, neurologic, cognitive, and sensory limitations.
